Three "PURE GOLD EDGE" Strategies for Wagering

"MAXFUN" Strategy

Bet $2 on our First Selection “Across The Board” [$2 WIN bet + $2 PLACE bet + $2 SHOW bet]. The Across The Board wager costs $6 and you collect should the horse WIN (finish 1st); PLACE (finish 1st or 2nd); or SHOW (finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd). If the horse finishes first you collect the payout for all three wagers [Win, Place and Show]. If the horse finishes second you collect the payout for two wagers [Place and Show]. If the horse finishes third you collect the payout for one wager [Show].

EXAMPLE with top selection #7 — say “At Lone Star, in the 3rd race, give me $2 ACROSS on the 7 horse”

and/or

Ask for a $2 Exacta Box [a $2 exact WIN, PLACE two horse combination bet] using our Top Three Selections. The Exacta Box wager costs $12 and you collect if any two of our Top Three Selections finish 1st AND 2nd — Exacta payoffs are usually pretty good.

EXAMPLE with top three selections #7, #9, #11 — say “At Lone Star, in the 3rd race, give me a $2 EXACTA BOX with the 7, 9, 11 ”

You will have fun cheering and collecting on a number of tickets and, sometimes even make a daily profit! Larger bet amounts are made at your discretion.

"PLAYER" Strategy

Bet $2 on our First Selection to Win-Place [a $2 WIN bet + a $2 PLACE bet]. That will cost $4 and you collect if the horse should finish either 1st or 2nd. At 5 minutes to Post Time, also ask for a $2 Exacta Part Wheel bet using the horse in our top three selections with the highest odds as the “Key” horse along with the other two horses.

EXAMPLE: At 5 minutes to Post Time — First selection-#4 odds are 2/1; Second selection-#7 odds are 5/1 (highest odds of the top three selections); Third selection-#9 odds are 4/1.— say “At Lone Star, in the 3rd race, give me a $2 WIN & PLACE on 4 AND a $2 EXACTA PART WHEEL, 7 with 4, 9; Up & Back.”

The “Up & Back” simply means a two way bet — #7 to WIN with either #4 or #9 to PLACE (Up) AND either #4 or #9 to WIN with #7 to PLACE (Back). The Exacta Part Wheel wager costs $8 and you collect on any Exacta combination where the #7 is involved with either the #4 or #9 horses. You won’t have as much “ticket cashing action” as the MAXFUN Strategy but this more conservative approach increases your chance of overall profit. Larger bet amounts are made at your discretion.

"WISEGUY" Strategy

At 5 minutes to Post Time, make $2 Exacta wagers on every two horse combination that includes one of our Top Three Selections paying $34 or higher (the tote board usually displays projected payouts for every combination).

At 3 minutes to Post Time, make a $2 Win bet on our First Selection if odds are 7/2 or higher; on our Second Selection at odds 5/1 or higher and on our Third Selection at odds 8/1 or higher. If two qualify, bet ‘em both, but ONLY to Win; NO Place or Show bets. If you can maintain the Discipline for this one, chance of profit across 5 to 10 days of play are good just not as much action as the other two. Larger bet amounts are made at your discretion.
